Go ahead and sign Katie Benzan up for any 3-point contest in the country. The Maryland guard caught fire in Tuesday afternoon’s blowout victory over Iowa.

Benzan finished the game with a team-high 29 points and made 10-of-11 shots from the floor as No. 8 Maryland cruised to a 111-93 victory over Iowa. The impressive part? She converted on 9-of-10 attempts from behind the 3-point line.

Those 9 shots from long range are a program record.

The 111 points scored by the Terrapins was a team-high in B1G play, the highest point total for any conference team since 2007 and tied for most for any Maryland team under current head coach Brenda Frese,

Benzan wasn’t the only Terrapin having a strong performance on Tuesday. Maryland also got 27 points from Diamond Miller and a double-double of 24 points and 12 assists from Ashley Owusu.

Maryland improved to 17-2 on the season with the win over Iowa. The Terrapins are sitting atop the B1G standings with a 13-1 conference record, one game ahead of Indiana (12-2). Maryland has two games left on the schedule, road trips to Purdue and Northwestern.
