McKenzie Milton has already overcome plenty of odds, but the Florida State quarterback is set to add another chapter to his incredible college football career.

The former UCF quarterback, who has recovered from a severe leg injury, made his unofficial debut with the Seminoles in the spring game before a limited crowd. Milton is trying to complete a comeback from the injury that happened late in the 2018 season, and required reconstructive knee surgery. Many wondered if it would be the end of his football career. Now he’s battling redshirt sophomore Jordan Travis for the starting job.

Milton finished 6 of 11 passing for 96 yards and one touchdown. Travis was 8 of 14 for 115 yards, including a 44-yard touchdown.

The Tallahassee Democrat reported that entering the spring, the assumption was that UCF quarterback transfer McKenzie Milton was the frontrunner for the starting job.

On the third drive of the game, he converted a pair of third downs on his opening drive with completions to Jashaun Corbin and Malik McClain. His scoring play was a back-shoulder throw to redshirt freshman receiver Bryan Robinson for a touchdown.

It appears the quarterback competition will spill over into the fall camp.
