Ravens Get Second Gaming Partner But First In MD Sports Betting

The Baltimore Ravens named BetMGM as an official gaming partner just one day after MD sports betting became a reality.

Under the agreement, BetMGM signage will feature throughout M&T Bank Stadium, as well as on Ravens digital and social media.

The two parties will also work on Ravens-specific promotions and marketing campaigns inside the BetMGM sportsbook app.

Engagement opportunity for Baltimore

Ravens Chief Sales Officer Kevin Rochlitz said the team prioritized finding unique ways to engage fans.

“We are excited to partner with BetMGM and look forward to the specialized entertainment experience the company will provide for our fans,” Rochlitz said.

The operator will also get a private hospitality suite within M&T Bank Stadium.  BetMGM Chief Revenue Officer Matt Prevost added:

“The Ravens are an incredible organization with a rich history, and we’re proud to have BetMGM as the team’s first official partner in the gaming space. We look forward to offering Ravens fans new ways to engage with their favorite football team on our market-leading platforms.”

The team did have an official casino partner in Caesars Horseshoe Casino back in 2018 when the NFL had yet to openly embrace sports betting.

Ravens set to profit from MD sports betting

The Ravens are in line for a windfall following the legalization of Maryland sports betting. Gov. Larry Hogan signed the bill into law Tuesday.

The NFL team is a prime target for incoming operators. And the lack of an exclusive tag on the MGM deal likely means more partners are on the way.

The Denver Broncos for instance have three sportsbook partnerships in Colorado.

Room for all in MD sports betting

The Ravens should have plenty of dance partners to choose from. There will be 60 available online sports betting licenses in Maryland. That would be more than any other state has issued yet.

The Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Football Team are the other key sports teams in the state.

Indeed, all three teams can do more than just sign up partners. The state’s casinos, racetracks and sports stadiums are eligible for Class A licenses for retail sportsbooks.

Sports facilities eligible for Class A:

  • FedEx Field, Washington Football Team
  • M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore Ravens
  • Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Baltimore Orioles

Does that mean the Ravens’ next partner might also be running a retail book for them?
