Frank Martin’s roster remake continues in Columbia as South Carolina basketball adds another transfer commitment.
On Wednesday, North Texas transfer guard James Reese (6-4, 167 pounds) announced his pledge to the Gamecocks. Reese, who is from Eastover, South Carolina, tweeted his excitement about coming home in his commitment announcement.
The former A.C. Flora High School standout started his college career at Buffalo in 2017-18. He then played for Odessa College at the JUCO level in 2018-19 before returning to the NCAA at North Texas in 2019-20.
This past season, Reese averaged 10.9 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.
Reese is South Carolina’s fourth addition via the transfer portal. Four Gamecocks players entered the portal this offseason.
