Nick Shiambouros hopes to start the new week with a couple of winners from Delaware Park…
Estilo Varonil a sharp customer
Race 3 19:15 Delaware Park – Estilo Varonil
Estilo Varonil is an interesting runner in this $25k maiden claimer on the turf.
This colt finished second to Dance Pants in a $32k maiden claimer at Tampa Bay Downs in April. He made a three wide move on the home turn, but could only stay on at one pace when the chips were down. In form trainer Juan Arriagada drops him in class and cuts him back in distance, which makes sense. He put in a super piece of work over the track five days ago and looks ready to roll. Anything around his Morning Line of 4.57/2 will do.
Golazo tough on the drop
Race 4 19:45 Delaware Park – Golazo
Golazo should go close in this $6,250 claimer on the main track.
This gelding finished a respectable fifth to Bernie’s On Fire in a restricted $10k claimer at Pimlico last month. He made his move in the home straight, but was found wanting and faded out of contention. He makes his second start for trainer Jamie Ness, who has hit the ground running at the meeting with a 44% strike rate. He fits well with this group, and the talented Daniel Centeno has the riding assignment. Anything around his Morning Line price of 4.03/1 will do.
