The Washington Wizards (15-26) drop by Madison Square Garden Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. ET game against the New York Knicks (21-22). Below, we analyze the Wizards-Knicks odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Washington is 1-6 straight up and 3-4 against the spread in seven games since the All-Star break, including a 113-106 loss to the Brooklyn Nets as 9-point road underdogs Sunday.

The Knicks lost an overtime heartbreaker to the Philadelphia 76ers 101-100 Sunday and are 2-4 straight up but 3-2-1 ATS to start the second half of their season. New York’s four losses over this stretch were to the top-three teams in the Eastern Conference.

Wizards SG Bradley Beal missed the first head-to-head meeting this season and New York waxed Washington 109-91 as a 3-point road favorite.

Knicks 114, Wizards 108

Money line (ML)

PASS with a slight lean on Knicks (-140) because it’s on the cusp of a playable NBA regular-season money line for me.

I’d entertain putting it in a parlay with another favorite to get a plus-money payout.

Against the spread (ATS)

There are a few favorable trends for New York in this game such as the Knicks being 5-2 ATS as slight favorites (laying between 1-2.5 points), 6-1 ATS in their last seven games as a home favorite, and 8-1 ATS in their last nine games following a straight-up loss.

Also, Washington really struggles against good defenses. According to, the Wizards are 4-11 overall with the 28th-ranked net points per 100 possessions against top-10 defenses.

Furthermore, against bottom-10 teams in net points per 100 possessions, the Knicks are 12-6 overall with a plus-5.4 margin in net efficiency and the sixth-highest ATS margin, according to

GIMME KNICKS -2.5 (-110) for 1 unit.

Over/Under (O/U)

Slight lean towards the UNDER 223.5 (-110) because the Knicks have the third-best defensive rating in the NBA and do an awesome job defending how the Wizards like to play.

For instance, New York has a top-10 defensive mid-range shooting percentage, and Washington attempts a high-volume of mid-range shots with its best players—Beal and PG Russell Westbrook—spending most of their time in the mid-range.

Eight of the previous 10 Wizards-Knicks games played to the Under so I lean UNDER 223.5 (-110) for a tiny wager.
